* Yuudachi's white sail was incorrectly seen as a flag of surrender, a fact that angered the Americans when she kept on fighting despite raising it. This sail can be seen in her K2 artwork, and reflects the significance. This eventually led to Yuudachi being sunk by USS Portland when she actually surrendered. The captain of the USS Portland was quoted to issue the order of "Sink the S.O.B" to which the gunnery officer obeyed, sinking the disabled (but evacuated) remnants of Yuudachi.
* Wreck located in Ironbottom Sound in October 1992 by Dr. Robert Ballard. She is in roughly 800 m (2,624 ft) of water, with the main wreck upright and the forecastle broken off and skewed to port. The entire ship aft of the aft torpedo mount is missing, apparently sheared off by the explosion of her aft magazine.

* Yuudachi's personality, according to [[Tanibe Yumi]] in her [[Tanibe Yumi Interview: Kancolle Style Vol. 3|interview]], is cheerful and very carefree, which is reflected especially in her "poi" lines. She has also noted that while Yuudachi does show a hint of an aggressive tone in her personality when she gets her Kai Ni Remodel, she however still retains the same cheerful, carefree mannerism which she has carries with her through her upgrade.
