|translation = I’m the 12th of Ukuru-class coastal defense ship, Inagi. When I was born, the balance of forces was already heavily tilted to the enemy's advantage, but I served on naval escort missions on the surviving shipping lanes. I escorted a convoy in the Hokkaido area and then done it in the Tohoku area too. Later, while temporarily anchored at Hachinohe, I was engaged by planes from the enemy task force. There were no more friendly fighter in the sky, and later, ones called me the "Hachinohe’s Shield", I heard.
