Help:Ship Farming
This article aims to provide advice on the better ways to farm for certain ships in order to use them as Modernization fodder. Those ships notably include:
- Maruyu for luck modding,
- Mizuho & Kamoi for HP modding,
- DE for HP/ASW/Luck modding.
Maruyu
Maruyu Kai is the best way to modernize reliably the luck of any ship in the game.
- For more information on this topic, see Maruyu modding.
LSC
Maruyu is a reliable LSC craft, being obtained by using the minimum amount of resources.
- She gets even better crafting rates by crafting her with as few "free docks" as possible.
- It is advised to attempt such craft only when reaching the resource caps, to avoid wasting any resource gain.

Mizuho & Kamoi
Mizuho & Kamoi can be used to modernize the HP of certain ships.
- For more information on this topic, see Mizuho & Kamoi modding.
LSC
Both Mizuho and Kamoi can be crafted via LSC only, but this method is not advised.
- For more information on this topic, see Mizuho & Kamoi crafting.
Sorties
Mizuho is a permanent drop on 7-2, 5-3, and 6-4 only, with only the fist being reasonably farmable.
Kamoi is a permanent drop on 7-4 only.
Both are also regular limited time drops.
7-2

1FBB, 1CV, 1CVL, 1CAV, 2DD (fast)
- Route = B C D I M
- Drop rate: 2.2 %
7-4
- Recommended Fleet
- 0-1BBV, 1CVL, 1CA/CL, 3-4DD/DE
- Route = A B E J L P
- LBAS Node P: Range = 2
- Drop rate: 5.7 %
DE
DE are the best way to modernize the HP of any ship in the game, as well as the only way to modernize ASW and a good way to modernize Luck.
- For more information on this topic, see DE modding.
DE Drop Behaviors
DE drops is a complicated mechanic. To farm for them efficiently, you need to know how their drop mechanic really works. For full details of how it works, you can check out these articles [1], [2]. But here is the TLDR version:
- If you own 3 copies of a DE and start farming for her 4th copy onwards, her drop rate will be decreased (This is known as possession penalty). So try to keep 2 copies of each DE at best.
- For every time that DE is scrapped, sunk or fed away using modernization, the game will add +1 to your cumulative decommission counter for that DE. If this counter reaches 10 or more, the rate of that DE drop will also be decreased (This is known as cumulative penalty). Keep this in mind if you fed away too many of that DE.
- This cumulative penalty applies to your account in every sea area, including event (As seen in map 2-3 [3] and Spring event 2024 E2 Boss [4])
- This counter is invisible and will keep going up if you remove that same DE from your base, making it really hard to get more copies of her after a certain amount of her copies removed, unless there is a hard reset of drop pool. So far, only one time dev has done this, which was in the November 2 2023 update [5]. When this reset happens, your cumulative penalty will also be reset back to 0, allowing you to farm for her again easily. However, it's unknown when dev will reset the drop pool again.
- The cumulative penalty starts taking real effect and reduce the DE drop rate also depends on which sea area you are farming. For spring event 2024 E2 Boss, the effect starts kicking in when the cumulative decommission counter is 14 or higher [6], for map 1-3, it kicks in when the counter is 10 or higher [7]. There is no fixed amount for this counter as it can change, so the safest bet is still try to keep the counter at 9 or less to avoid the penalty.
- Lastly, when cumulative penalty kicks in, it doesn't reduce that DE drop rate to 0%, it's just really low rate, so it's still possible to farm for her, just very unlikely.
Sorties
DE can only be obtained via drops, and only limited time drops so far, thus, there is almost no reliable way to farm them.
7-4
So far, only 7-4 has a constant set of DE drops, being a reliable farm location.
- Recommended Fleet
- 0-1BBV, 1CVL, 1CA/CL, 3-4DD/DE
- Route = A B E J L P
- LBAS Node P: Range = 2
