Kaga is portrayed as emotionless and serious, to contrast with Akagi's playful "spoiled brat" persona.

In various Kancolle manga and doujins, she is overly obsessive and protective of Akagi, to the point where she doesn't hesitate to dispatch any harm in her way, be it friend or foe, the former often to hillarious effect.

Also shown to be disapproving of the 5th Car Div (Zuikaku and Shoukaku).
