Boasting a high performance, water-cooled engine, Suisei was developed as the successor to Type 99 Carrier Bomber. This Suisei Model 12 is armed with freshly developed combat test ready Type 31 Photoelectric Fuze Bombs. These bombs were equipped with one of many Japanese proximity fuses, operating based on the amount of light the phototube reflected. They were reportedly used by the Fuyou Squadron which kept on fighting without a break until the very end.
