|translation = I was born as the eighth of the special-type destroyers. I am the Fubuki-class destroyer, Shirakumo. Some of my sisters and I formed the Twelfth Destroyer Division, a component of the Third Torpedo Squadron, which was involved in the fighting during the Southern Front Operation and in the Solomons. After being reassigned to the First Torpedo Squadron, I was sent to northern waters. There, I served in each operation and in convoy escorts. Please do remember me, Shirakumo.
