The following interview was conducted in the Comptiq Magazine April 2018 edition (released on Marc 10th, 2017) in which seiyuu Ootsubo Yuka discusses her involvement with KanColle.

会見者：２０１８年の初めには本誌２月号のCMに発場していただきました。日振と大東という２隻の海防艦に挟まれてタジタジの北上を演じられて印象を教えてください。 大坪：「海防艦、ウザっ！」って言っていましたけど、表紙イラストの北上の表情を見る限り、嫌がっているようで内心すごく喜んでいるんじゃないかなって思いました。北上のああいう笑顔はなかなか見られないので、なんだか新鮮でした。ただ日振と大東に大井っちが嫉妬するんじゃないかと、ヒヤヒヤしていました（笑）。 会見者：そんな日振型の海防艦たちも大坪さんが演じられたそうですが、彼女たちへの印象はいかがですか？ 大坪：とてもかわいらしくて「育てたい！」って思いました。日振はとてもしっかりしていて子犬のような印象です。大東はいたずらっ子に見えて海防艦としての仕事をまっとうしているので、とても尊敬できます。 会見者：海防艦の２隻はこれまで演じられてきた北上、大井をはじめとする艦娘たちより幼いイメージの艦娘ですが、演じる上でその違いは意識されていたでしょうか？ 大坪：２席とも小学生高学年くらいの女の子のイメージで演じさせていただいたのですが、純粋さとか、守ってあげたい感じを意識しました。すでに８隻演じさせていただいているのですが幼めなキャラはいなかったので自分の新たな引き出しを開ける事ができたのかなと思っています。 会見者：以前の本誌インタビューで「機会が得れば小さい艦などを演じて、自分で自分をウザがってみたい」というようなことを言われていました。今回は夢が叶った形となりましたね。 大坪：うれしいです！やはり口に出していってみるものですね。しかも、愛情のある「ウザっ！」だったので、そこもうれしかったです。もっと日振と大東と絡む北上さんが見てみたいですね。 会見者：「艦これ」ではエンガノ岬沖海戦をはじめとした捷一号作戦が展開されています。伊勢、日向たち決戦に挑む艦娘のボイスも収録されたかと思いますが、こちらの印象をお聞かせください。 大坪：真剣なセリフからバラエティに富んだものまで、実家のような安心感で収録させていただきました。とくに大井と日向は演じていて楽しかったです。早くすべてのボイスを提督の皆さんに聴いていただきたいです！。 会見者：演じられている艦娘たちは、普段は比較的コミカルな部分を見せることが多かったように思いますが、シリアスな部分に触れてみてどう感じましたか？ '大坪：今回のシリアスな台詞の艦の史実がわかればわかるほど深みを増す台詞が多く、かわいいだけではない「艦これ」の魅力が詰まっていると思います。 会見者：北上、大井についてはバレンタインデーに合わせたボイスも実装されました。こちらの印象などもお願いします。 大坪：相変わらずのイチャイチャっぷりで私もうれしいです！本当に２人は独特な世界観を築き上げていますよね。私もこの２人の世界観が好きなので、これからも皆さんが胸焼けするくらいイチャイチャしていきたいです。 会見者：現在展開中のローソンさんとのコラボでは、北上、大井がパッケージに描かれた魚雷型のエクレア「九三式酸素エクレア」も登場しました。こちらは手に取られましたか？ 大坪：もちろん食べました！愛情もカロリーもたっぷりで美味しかったです！私の両親も買ってくれたみたいで,自分が演じたキャラクターの商品がローソンさんの店頭に並んでいた光景は一生忘れません！ 会見者：２０１８年春には「艦これ」は５周年を迎えて、「艦これ第二期」への移行も予定されています。それも含め、今後の「艦これ」に期待することがあればお聞かせください。 大坪：以前、北上と大井で時報ボイスを録らせていただいて、それがすごく楽しかったので是非違うキャラクターでも収録してみたいです。去年富士急ハイランドで行なった「瑞雲祭り」がとても楽しかったので、またああいうイベントをどこかで開催していただけたらうれしいな～、と思っています！あと個人的には、謎解きやリアルイベントが好きなので、たとえば、大井の部屋からの脱出とかあったらおもしろそうですね。。。（笑） 会見者：最後に提督の皆さんへのメッセージをお願いします！ 大坪：まさか新艦娘の海防艦２隻に声をあてることができるなんて思ってもいませんでした。これもすべて「艦これ」を愛し、大きくしてくださった提督の皆様のおかげです。ありがとうございます！もうすぐ五周年、これからも艦娘たちとのキズナを信じて一緒に走っていきましょう。よろしくお願いします！	Interviewer: They’ve appeared on the cover of the February issue of our magazine. Two Kaiboukans, named Hiburi and Daitou, with Kitakami squeezed between them. Would you please do an impression of her in this situation? Ootsubo: “Kaiboukans, annoyiiing!” is what she’d say, but while she may look like she hates it, I think that deep inside she’s feeling extremely happy because of it. It’s rare to see Kitakami smile like that, so it feels somehow fresh. The risk of Ooicchi becoming jealous over Hiburi and Daitou made me quite anxious though *laughs*. I: It seems that you’ve voiced these Hiburi-class Kaiboukans. What was your impression of them? O:' They look so cute, I’ve immediately thought “I WANT TO RAISE THEM!”. Hiburi looks very reliable and has this feeling of a puppy about her. Daitou looks like a little rascal, but does a good job as Kaiboukan, so I can respect her a lot. I: Two Kaiboukans seem rather childish when compared to other girls that you’ve voiced like Kitakami and Ooi. Was this difference made clear when recording? O: I gave these two an image of girls in the late years of primary school, but I was also aware of their purity and the feeling that makes you want to protect them. I was already given a chance to voice eight shipgirls, but none of them were children, so I think of it as paving new ways and opening new doors for myself. I: In previous interview for our magazine, you said: “If I got the chance, I’d like to voice some sort of small ship”. It seems your dream has come true? O: I’m super happy! As expected, say it and it’ll come true, right? Moreover, they are the lovable type of noisy, which makes me even happier. You can probably guess that I’d like to see more of Kitakami-san entwined with Hiburi and Daitou. I: Currently, the Battle of Engano Cape is under development, as a part of Operation Shou Gou 1. I believe you’ve recorded some lines for Ise and Hyuuga who will be facing their own decisive battle, so please let us hear about your impressions. O: Be it serious lines or various other things, I voiced them with a sense of security, as if I were back at my parents’ house. I’ve especially enjoyed voicing Ooi and Hyuuga. I’d like all the Admirals to listen to these new lines as soon as possible! I: I think that the shipgirls you’d voiced, usually had a lot of comical parts about them. How did it feel to record serious lines? O: This time there’s a lot of serious lines which meanings increase if you understand the history behind the ships. I think that KanColle isn’t only about cute girls, but there’s also a lot of this kinda historic charm to it. I: About Kitakami and Ooi. Their Valentine’s Day lines were implemented as well. Please give us your impressions of them. O: As always, I too am happy that the lines are very flirty. These two really make this universe unique, and I like their influence on it. This said, from now on I’d like them to grow in a way that will make all hearts race. I: During the upcoming collaboration with Lawson which is currently under development, bothKitakami and Ooi will appear on the packages of the torpedo type eclairs, the “Type 93 Oxygen Éclair”. Have you gotten your hands on one yet? O: Yes, I ate one of course! Full of love and calories, it was very tasty! It seems that my parents also bought it. They say that the view of items with the characters I’ve voiced, lined up at Lawson is something they’ll never forget! I: Spring 2018 marks the 5th Anniversary of KanColle. Transition to the Phase 2 is also planned for this upcoming season. With this in mind, please let us hear about any future expectations of KanColle, that you might have. O: Previously I’ve voiced the hourly lines for Kitakami and Ooi. It was so awesome, I’d certainly like to try this with other characters. Last year’s performance at the “Zuiun Festival” at Fuji Q Highland was also enjoyable, so if another such event was held, that would make me very happy. Personally I enjoy solving riddles and real life activities, so, for example, something like escaping from Ooi’s room would be very fun… *laughs* I: Finally, a message for the Admirals, please! O: I didn’t think I’ll be able to voice the two new Kaiboukan shipgirls. This was made possible by the Admirals whose love allowed KanColle to become this big. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! The 5th Anniversary is approaching fast, let’s dive into it together, believing in our bonds with the shipgirls. Thank you for everything!
