• The Heavy Cruiser to receive the Kai Ni Upgrade served as part of the 6th Cruiser Division and played an role in night battles at the Solomon Islands.
• Sunk after the night battle while return to base. (This implies Kako to be the recipient of the upgrade.)

• Over the course of the Summer, 1 Heavy Cruiser, 1 Light Cruiser, and 2 Standard Aircraft Carriers are expected to get a Kai Ni.
