Her name means "Auspicious Phoenix" like her sister Shouhou.
She was launched on the 19th of June 1936.
Sunk by air attack during the Battle of Cape Engaño, on the 25th of October 1944.

She was originally designed as a Submarine Tender named Takasaki, before being converted into a Light Carrier.
The camo pattern of her upgraded model clothes refers to the actual flight deck camouflage pattern used during Leyte Gulf battle, the same pattern was used on Zuikaku, Chitose and Chiyoda.
