Trivia

General Information

She is named after the Yahagi River.
She was launched on the 25th of October 1942.
Sunk on the 7th of April 1945 by USN aircraft south of Kyūshū at 30°47′N 128°08′E as part of operation Ten-Go.

Update History

She was added on the 1st November as Fall 2013 E5 drop.
Was part of the LSC construction pool when it was released on the 24th of December 2013.
She got her Kai Ni on the 30th of March 2021.

Misc

Pioneering architect Takekuni Ikeda, who died in May 2022 at the age of 98, was a war veteran who once served as a crew of the Yahagi in WWII. After being presented with the picture of Yahagi's KanColle counterpart, he gave a comment that she is cute and looks like a good girl.
She shares a captain (Tameichi Hara) with both Amatsukaze and Shigure. Captain Hara was the only IJN Destroyer Captain from the start of the war to survive to the very end, and Yahagi was Captain Hara's last command of the war.
