Analysis

Priority: Low

At first remodel, she has low firepower and a decent torpedo stat, making her hitting harder in night battle than at day, but not great at either.

While not impressive in combat, do keep in mind than many maps require you to bring at least a few destroyers for routing.

Furthermore, destroyers are cheap to deploy and can equip Drum Canister, making them suited for expeditions.

Her second remodel mostly increases her AA and ASW stats, making her able to perform OASW at high-but-before-marriage levels with proper gear.

Furthermore, her luck rises to 32, meaning she can execute cut-in attacks semi-reliably in night battle, even though her Firepower and Torpedo stats are first remodel-tier.

Trivia

Calpis Ration soft drinks from WWII as noted here may share the same design as Ushio's Summer Swimsuit CG.

Surrendered August 15, 1945, scrapped in 1948.
Her name means "tide" or "current".
Received her Kai Ni on the 84th anniversary of her commissioning: November 14th, 2014.
She is required for quest A30.
Ushio's Summmer Swimsuit has a blue with white polka dot design which based on observation from players suspect may actually be a reference to the actual design colors used for during WWII for wrappers of Calpis rations, a milk water soft drink, which were produced and sent to the Imperial Japanese Navy and Army over the duration of the war.
The artist Drew confirmed through a twitter post back on November 14th, 2013 that the stickers on Ushio rigging shown on her gun and torpedo mount straps are suppose to represent (hoped) marked kills she may had been credited for based on IJN reports.
