Introduction

遠距離砲撃戦における秘密兵器「九一式徹甲弾」の改良版です。
海中突入後魚雷のように敵艦水線下に突き進み、喫水下破砕を企図した特殊徹甲弾です。
九一式より性能・生産性が向上しており、弾頭部には弾着観測用着色剤を充填していたと云われています。
戦艦・航空戦艦・高速戦艦で使用可能です。

The Type 1 Armor Piercing shell is an improved version of the secret "Type 91 Armor Piercing Shell" fired from long-range cannons.
It is intended to work by plunging into the sea, striking the hull below the waterline of the enemy ship like a torpedo.
It has better performance than the Type 91, and has colored dyes for identification and target assists.
It can be equipped on battleships, aviation battleships, and fast battleships.

Mechanics

Armor-Piercing Shell AP Shells are mainly used for increasing the general damage potential of batleships, with further bonuses for Artillery Spotting and Special Attacks.

  • They also play some Anti-Installation role, notably against "Hard-Skinned Installations".
