Special Ability: Nelson Touch

Nelson Touch Attack as the 3 ships commence the attack

Note: The Following ability is currently experimental and is subject for possible changes/removal in due time as stated by Kensuke Tanaka in his October 2018 Comptiq Interview. All current notes are based on what has been known since it's initial release.

On September 15th, 2018, Nelson was given a new ability known as the Nelson Touch which is a special attack that can trigger in both single and combine fleets under the following conditions:

• Single Fleet Conditions:
  • Nelson must be the Flagship of the fleet
  • The 3rd and 5th ship slots of your fleet composition must not be occupied by a Carrier (CV/CVL/CVB)
  • The Fleet must enter in battle in a Double Line Formation
  • There must be a total of 6 ships in the fleet
  • Does not have submarines (SS/SSV) in the fleet.

• Combined Fleet Conditions:
  • Nelson must be the Flagship of the Main Fleet.
  • The 3rd and 5th ship slots of your fleet composition must not be occupied by a Carrier (CV/CVL/CVB)
  • The Fleet must enter in battle in a Combine Fleet Formation 2 (Double Line Combine Fleet)
  • There must be a total of 6 ships in the Main fleet
  • Does not have submarines (SS/SSV) in the main fleet.

If these conditions are met a special animation and attack will trigger on Nelson's turn where she will appear on screen and her CG will switch to her Nelson Touch Mode CG as she commences the attack, the ships that occupy the 3rd and 5th slot will join in the attack.

Once the sequence is complete, the special attack will commence as Nelson and the other two ships that join in the attack will attack for a total of 3 times randomly attacking 3 ships in the enemy fleet. The damage you do with each attack will go down in order from 1st, 3rd and 5th ship's fire power.

Along with these known conditions, other important factors are also known regarding about the Nelson Touch Mechanic:

• The Equipment Nelson is using doesn't matter
• Airstate doesn't matter - Can trigger with failed detection
• Nelson cannot trigger this ability when she is Moderately Damaged
• The ability can trigger in either Day or Night Battle
• The Ability can only be used in Sorties and cannot be used in PVP

Current test show that Nelson Touch provides a 2x postcap modifier during day battle, but can be enhanced to 2.5x post cap under the condition of a Red T-Cross Disadvantage Confrontation

In night Battle, there is no post cap modifier for Nelson Touch, but is still affected by Red-T allowing for damage modifier to be 100% instead of 50% (under normal Red T situations)

Do note that this ability will only trigger once per sortie, so plan carefully on when you choose to use the Nelson Touch as you only can use it once until you return to base to conduct another sortie.
