Expeditions are the backbone of naval economy. They provide a safe and steady income of virtually all common in-game resources with the exception of [[Akashi's_Improvement_Arsenal|Improvement materials]].
+
The '''Expedition (遠征)''' menu can be accessed from the '''Sortie (出撃)''' button on the main menu. These will be your main source of all in game resources except for improvement materials {{IM}}.
*The fuel, ammo, steel and bauxite gained from expeditions can accumulate beyond the [[Tutorial:_FAQ#I_heard_about_the_resource_cap._How_much_is_the_limit.3F_Does_that_mean_I_can.27t_gather_resources_exceeding_my_limit.3F | soft cap]]. This makes expeditions the best way to stockpile resources for events.

*Expeditions also provide [[Experience_and_Rank | experience]], making them useful for levelling up weak ships.

*A few expeditions are sortie [[#Support Expeditions | support expeditions]], which provide additional support fire for difficult sorties and events.

*Many expeditions are also [[Quests | quest requirements]].

Expeditions themselves need to be unlocked first, usually by completing other expeditions or quests. Once they have been unlocked, they can be repeated indefinitely. The list of expeditions does not change from one update to another. However, support expeditions for special event maps might be temporarily included during events.

===Dispatching Fleets===

[[File:Expedition fleet.png|right|thumb|300px|Sending a fleet on expedition]]

[[File:Expedition fleet.png|right|thumb|300px|Sending a fleet on expedition]]
To send fleets on expedition:
+
To dispatch fleets on an expedition:
#Access the Sortie screen and click the rightmost, blue button.

#Select an expedition.

#Select a fleet to send on the expedition.

#Click the bottom right button to send the selected fleet on the expedition.

Once unlocked, an expedition can be repeated indefinitely without any penalty to subsequent runs. However, an expedition can only be attempted once at any given moment. Multiple fleets can go on different expeditions, but not the same expedition.
+
1. Select the expedition you wish to do from the expedition menu.<br>
 +
2. Click the '''Confirm (決定)''' button to bring up the fleet selection menu.<br>
 +
3. Select the fleet you wish to dispatch using the fleet icons at the top.<br>
 +
* '''Remember that the first fleet cannot be dispatched.'''  <br>
 +
4. Click on '''Begin Expedition! (遠征開始!)''' to dispatch the fleet.<br>

'''The first fleet (main fleet) cannot go on an expedition'''; only the second, third and fourth fleets.
+
'''Important Notes'''
*Quest A4 unlocks the second fleet at the same time as expeditions
+
* Up to 3 fleets can be dispatched at once.
*Quest [[Quests#A14 | A14]] unlocks the third fleet
+
** They cannot be dispatched on the same expedition.
*Quest [[Quests#A16 | A16]] unlocks the fourth fleet.
+
** Please see [[Composition#Menu_Functions|Composition]] on how to unlock more fleets.
 +
* Every expedition has specific success conditions. Please [[#Reference_Tables|see below]] for details.
 +
** Not meeting the conditions will cause the expedition to fail and not yield any resources.
 +
** Fuel and ammunition costs will still be applied.
 +
** Experience will still be gained but HQ experience will be reduced by 30%.
 +
* Expeditions only count for quests '''if the quest is active when the fleet returns'''.
 +
** Therefore you only need to activate the quest when the expedition is nearing completion.
 +
* Expeditions can be completed early by returning to the home screen when less than 1 minute remains on the timer.
 +
* Expeditions cost 3 morale.
 +
** Exceptions are [[Support_Expedition#Overview|Support Expeditions]].
 +
* Damage state does not affect success or failure.
 +
** <span style="color:red;">'''Heavily damaged (大破)'''</span> flagships will render the fleet unable to be dispatched.

Every expedition has its own success conditions. Failure to meet the conditions results in a failed expedition and the fleet will still consume fuel, ammunition and the time specified by the expedition but no resources or reward will be returned. [[Experience and Rank#HQ Experience | HQ XP]] gained from failed expeditions is reduced significantly to 30%, however, [[Experience and Rank#Ship Experience | Ship XP]] gained remains unaffected. While this might prove desirable for those who want to suppress their HQ level, it is generally not recommended due to the resource costs involved.

===Recalling Expeditions===
 +
[[File:Expedition_Recall.jpg|thumb|right|Only seen in an active expedition]]
 +
In the event where you have dispaced the wrong fleet on an expedition or dispatched them to the wrong expedtion, you are able to cancel the expedition by clicking the '''Cancel Expedition/Recall Order (遠征中止/帰還命令)''' button.

Check the top right corner of the home screen for the bubble indicating an expedition has returned, click on the home screen to view the results of the expedition and obtain any rewards.
+
* Cancelled expeditions do not yield any resources or experience.
*Expedition quests only count when the expedition fleet returns, therefore, one only needs to activate the quest when the fleet returns.
+
* They are counted as failures on your Admiral profile.
*Expeditions can be completed earlier by entering the main screen when there is less than one minute remaining in the expedition.
+
* A recall '''cannot be cancelled'.
*Ships lose 3 [[Fatigue and Morale | morale]] per expedition.
+
* Support expeditions '''cannot be recalled'''.
 +
* Recalled fleets do not return immediately, the return time is calculated as:

Damage state cannot cause an expedition to fail; however, heavily-damaged ships cannot be deployed as flagships.
+
<math>\text{Return Time} = \frac{\text{Time}_\text{min}}{3}</math>

===Recalling an Expedition===
+
Where, <math>\text{Time}_\text{min}</math> is the lesser of '''remaining time''' or ''elapsed time'''.
[[File:Expedition_Recall.jpg||border|frame|right|Only seen in an active expedition]]In the event where the wrong fleet was accidentally sent on expedition, an "Expedition Recall" is possible to cancel the expedition and save the time otherwise would be wasted on expedition.

An expedition cancelled in this manner yields no resources, rewards, or experience. It is also counted as a fail in the Admiral's profile. Fuel, ammunition and morale required by the expedition are still consumed. This should be used with care as '''a recall cannot be cancelled'''.

The recalled fleet does not return immediately as it will take a while to return to base. The calculation for return call time is as follows:

<div align="center" style="margin:20px;"><span style="border:1px red solid;padding:10px;">''The smaller time between '''remaining time''' and '''elapsed time''' / 3.''</span></div>

For example, a fleet is sent on expedition #1 (15 minutes), then after 6 minutes, it is recalled.

Line 70: Line 89:

#The final recall time is 2 minutes.

#The final recall time is 2 minutes.

Note that Expedition Recall '''cannot be used''' if the expedition in question is a [[#Support_Expeditions|support expedition]]. The only way to recall such fleet early is to deploy to a map that corresponds with that support expedition.

=Success Conditions=

==Success Conditions==

===Normal Success===

===Normal Success===
Meeting all the following conditions guarantees a ''Normal Success'':
+
Meeting the requirements for the expeditions as [[#Reference Tables|detailed below]] will normally result in a '''Normal Success (成功)'''. Failing to meet the requirements will result in a '''Failure (失敗)'''. Please check your fleets against the following checklist to ensure success.
*'''Fleet's supply'''

**Fleets sent on expedition should be fully [[Tutorial:_How_to_Play#Repair_and_Resupply|resupplied]].

***There are reports of success even when the fleet is not fully resupplied, but it is risky.

*'''Flagship's level'''

**The level of the flagship (first ship of a fleet) must be greater than or equal to the ''flagship's level'' specified by the expedition.

*'''Total level of fleet'''
+
* '''Supply status''': Fleets should be fully '''[[Supply (Mechanic)|resupplied]]''' before being dispatched. Fleets without enough supplies to meet the expedition cost will fail.
**The total level of every ship in the fleet must be greater than or equal to the ''total level of fleet'' specified by the expedition, if any.
+
* '''Flagship level''': The flagship must have a level greater or equal to the required flagship level of the expedition.

+
* '''Fleet level''': Certain expeditions also have a '''sum total of fleet level''' requirement that must be met.
*'''Ship types'''
+
* '''Composition''': Certain expeditions require certain ship types and/or certain numbers of ship girls to be dispatched.
**Most expeditions require a certain number of ships of specific types. The ships in a fleet can be in any order but the required number of ships in each type must be met. Some ship types can be used as substitutes for other ship types, some remodelled ship types and their old models are not interchangeable, while other types follow a one-way relationship.
+
* '''Drum Canisters''': Certain expeditions such as 21 require a certain number of [[Drum Canister]]s to be equipped by the fleet.
***Light aircraft carriers (CVL) and seaplane tenders (AV) can be used as substitutes for standard aircraft carriers (CV).
+
* '''Stats''': Certain expeditions such as A2 have certain '''sum total of fleet''' stat requirements that must be met. Required stats can be firepower {{Firepower}}, Torpedo {{Torpedo}}, ASW {{ASW}}, Line of Sight {{LOS}} or Anti-Air {{AA}}.
***Submarine aircraft carriers (SSV) can be used as substitutes for submarines (SS).

***Aviation cruisers (CAV) and heavy cruisers (CA) are not interchangeable.

***Torpedo cruisers (CLT) and light cruisers (CL) are not interchangeable.

***Battleships (BB) and fast battleships (FBB) cannot be used as substitutes for aviation battleships (BBV).

***Light aircraft carriers (CVL) and standard aircraft carriers (CV) cannot be used as substitutes for seaplane tenders (AV).

*'''Number of ships in fleet'''

**Fleets sent on an expedition must contain at least a certain number of ships. After ship type requirements are met, wild card ships (denoted as type XX in the expedition tables) can be added to meet the ''minimum number of ships'' condition. Extra ships beyond the minimum number to help with other conditions are allowed.

*'''Number of drum canisters and drum carrying ships'''

**Expedition 21, 37, 38 also require [[Drum Canister]]s to be equipped. The total number of drums and the number of ships carrying drums must be greater than or equal to a minimum value.

{{TipBox

[[File:Greatsuccess.jpg|center|500px|Great Success]]

[[File:Greatsuccess.jpg|center|500px|Great Success]]

Great success is an advanced form of success. It grants 50% additional resources, twice the Admiral experience, four times the ship experience and great success item reward if applicable. Great success can be achieved when:
+
A '''Great Success (大成功)''' provides 50% more resources, twice the HQ experience, four times the ship girl experience and the great success reward item (if applicable). In additon to meeting [[#Normal Success | Normal Success]] conditions, great success requires either:
*[[#Normal Success | Normal Success]] conditions are met.

*There are a few great success factor(s):

**Fleets containing ships with 50 morale or higher (i.e. sparkling).

**Expedition requiring [[Drum Canister | Drum Canisters]], as well as expeditions #24 and #40 (if drums are equipped).

The chance of achieving ''great success'' increases approximately 16% per sparkled ship. Furthermore, expeditions that require Drum Canisters have a chance to produce ''great success'' independently of morale. These two factors can be stacked so as to achieve Great Success with less sparkling.

Please note that success rate increased per sparkled ship for drum canister expeditions is less than expeditions without drum canisters. Exceedingly high number of drums (drum overload) affect the ''great success'' chance of these expeditions.

Damage state is speculated to reduce your chances of great success.
+
* '''Sparkling''': Ship girls with 50 or more [[Morale_and_Fatigue|morale]].
 +
** Each sparkled ship girl increases the great success chance by approximately 16%.
 +
* '''Drum Canisters''': Expeditions which require drum canisters have an innate chance of great success.
 +
** The chance is roughly 50%.
 +
** Drum expeditions can be "over drumed" to increase the great success chance further without needing sparkles.
 +
* '''Stats''': Certain expeditions such as 41 have an innate great success chance related to stats.
 +
** Going over the total stat requirement can increase the chance of great success without needing sparkles.

===Ratings and Rewards===
+
=Expedition Rewards=
Expeditions will always yield the primary resources upon success and they will always grant experience unless recalled. However, secondary item rewards are not guaranteed to be obtained upon success.
+
Expeditions will always yield primary resources ({{Fuel}}{{Ammo}}{{Steel}}{{Bauxite}}) upon success. Secondary rewards are not guaranteed.

[[File:Expedition_Secondary_Reward.jpg|border|frame|right|Expedition 12 gives medium box (left) and development material (right)]]
*For expeditions that give only one type of item, there is 50% chance of getting the item.
+
* Items listed on the left always have a 50% chance of being obtained regardless of normal or great success.
*For expeditions that give two types of items, the item listed on the left of the game screen will have 50% chance. The item on the right will always be rewarded upon ''Great Success'', and has a low reward chance with ''Normal Success''.
+
* Items listed on the right are guaranteed on a great success and have a very low chance on a normal success.

The outcome of expeditions depends on several conditions. There exists four possible outcome ratings; each of which has different resource, experience and item reward yield ratios.

===Landing Crafts===
| tip = The '''[[Daihatsu-class Landing Craft]]''' (LC) is obtainable from [[Akitsu Maru]] and [[Abukuma|Abukuma Kai Ni]] as stock equipment. Each equipped LC will net an additional 5% gain in resources from expeditions, up to 20%.

Total resource gain is multiplied with great success bonus. Combined with great success bonus, the net resource gain is calculated as 50%+7.5% per LC. Thus the max resource bonus is an additional 80% with great success and 4 LC.
+
Equipping certain landing crafts will boost the primary resource gain of the expedition. Aside from the Toku Daihatsu, all other landing craft bonuses stack with each other. All landing craft bonuses are '''multiplicative''' with the great success bonus. This means you can gain 1.8x the resources on great success with four daihatsu in your fleet.

[[Akitsu Maru]] can be constructed in [[Construction#Large Ship Construction|Large Ship Construction]]. [[Abukuma]] can be found through drops or construction and will require a blueprint to become kai ni to obtain her '''[[Daihatsu-class Landing Craft]]'''

Support expeditions involve sending a fleet into an expedition to provide additional bombardment during the [[Combat | opening stages of Combat]]. There are two types of support expedition; normal support and boss support:
+
|5%
*Expedition 33 is a normal support expedition (15 minutes). It gives support at every node other than a boss node with ~50% chance to trigger at each node.
+
|20%
*Expedition 34 is a boss support expedition (30 minutes). It gives support at a boss node with ~80% chance to trigger.

Events usually come with their own exclusive support expeditions (e.g. Expedition 133 & 134) that can only be used throughout the event. These event expeditions are unlocked by default.
+
Also obtainable from certain [[Quests|quests]].

+
|-
Sparkling your ships (mainly flagship) increases the probability to trigger support while using fatigued ships reduces it. Currently, support expeditions '''''only work in World 5 and events'''''. Since 2017, support expeditions can also trigger in nodes that involve night battles. Support expeditions will end if either of these two conditions are fulfilled:
+
|[[Toku Daihatsu-class Landing Craft]]
#Finish a sortie.
+
| +2% to daihatsu bonus.
#The timer runs out.
+
| +6% to daihatsu bonus.
It is recommended to start a sortie immediately after the support expedition has been sent in order to avoid the timer running out halfway through the sortie.
+
|Obtainable from quests or upgrading basic Daihatsu. For details on how the maximum bonus is calculated, please see the equipment page.

===Support Types===

A support expedition requires a '''minimum''' of 2 DDs (Destroyers). The other 4 slots affect what type of support will be provided. The three types provided are Aerial Support, Long Range Torpedo Attack, and Support Shelling:

|Obtainable from quests or upgrading basic Daihatsu.
**May require fighter planes due to AS affecting performance

| 2 or more total ships from the following classes: CV, CVL, LHA, and AV

| 50% Fuel, 40% Ammo<br/>Bauxite ''(only for lost planes)''

|

*Can be used for ASW support expeditions (see below)

*Acts as multiple low-power attacks

** Highly effective against high HP and armor enemies (relying on multiple scratches)

** Also highly effective against very light but highly evasive enemies (such as PT boats) due to the number of attacks

*Low cost

** Half the ammo cost of shelling

** Only costs bauxite if planes are shot down

*Engagement or Formation Modifier does not apply.

*For certain maps where night battle precedes day battle, supporting fire may concentrate more (since it arrives after night battle).

|

*Unlikely to sink anything but light ships

*Fighters must be sent to the airstrike as in a regular aerial phase

** Bauxite costs can be high if the enemy has strong air defense

*DDs do not participate

* CV/CVLs have great performance despite the cost.

** But only up to 1; 2 or more turns the support into Aerial Support.

| Requires 2 ≥ (F)BB(V), OR 4 CA(V). Must have 1 ≤ CV(L/B)

| 50% Fuel, 80% Ammo

|

*Does heavy damage upon a successful hit

*Highly effective against enemies of medium-durability (a maxed support shelling is essentially four 151-power shots)

*Can provide Support in nodes that start in Night Battle.

*DDs can participate in shelling, though weakly

|

*High cost (especially if boss node is not reached)

*Affected by Engagement and Formation Modifier (so <span style="color:red">Crossing the T - Disadvantage</span> is a huge detriment)

*Less effective against heavily armored or highly evasive enemies.

===Damage calculation===
+
=Expedition Subtypes=
All damage dealt by support expedition follows the rule for [[Combat#Base_Attack_Power|regular combat]], with two exceptions:
+
===Support Expeditions===
#Aerial support gets +3 instead of +25 to the part of the formula counting the square root of the planes in the slot. Thus, each attack uses the following formula for damage: <math> \text {Modifier} \times \text {((Bomber's Dive Bomb or Torpedo stat)} \times \sqrt {Number \space of \space Planes} + 3)</math>, where Modifier = 1.0 for dive bombers and either 0.8 or 1.5 (50% chance of either) for torpedo bombers.
+
''The support expedition section has been moved due to length.''
#Shelling support does not get the Effective Bonus provided by [[Akashi's Improvement Arsenal|improving equipment]] and uses (Firepower + 5) as attack power instead.
+

Support expeditions are available in World 5 and events. You can dispatch powerful fleets to help assist you during sorties in those areas. Please see [[Support Expedition]] for more details on what they are and how they work.

===Monthly Expeditions===

===ASW Support Expedition===
+
These expeditions can only be completed once per month. They reset '''on the 15th of every month at 1200 JST'''.
As of 2017, Aerial Support can now trigger at nodes containing enemy submarines, provided that the correct set-ups are used. The requirements<ref>https://twitter.com/muu_1106/status/937539281832230912</ref> are as follows:

#Support Expedition must not meet the requirements for either shelling or torpedo support.

#Support Expedition fleet must contain 2DD + 1CVL + 1"ASW Ship" + any other ships (provided that Rule #1 is not violated).

#*The "ASW Ship" '''must''' be 1 of the following: CVL/AV/AO/CL/CT.

#**This rule is can be bypassed if your fleet contains 2DE, but this is generally not worth the trade-off as all of your damage in an ASW Support Expedition will be derived from slot sizes and the ASW power of said ASW Aviation Patrol equipment (see below).

#*The CVL & "ASW Ship" must have one of the following ASW Aviation Patrol equipment in a slot with a slot size of > 0:

#**Torpedo Bomber/Dive Bomber/Seaplane Bomber/Seaplane Fighter/Seaplane Recon/Taitei/[[Ka-type Observation Autogyro]]/[[Type 3 Spotter/Liaison (ASW)]]

#*Further to the above, the ASW Aviation Patrol equipment must have an {{ASW}} value of > 0.

#**For example, the [[Kyoufuu Kai]] will not count as it does not have an ASW stat.

#**As Fighters are not included in the list, a [[Fulmar]] will not have any effect despite having an ASW stat of 2.

Potential ASW output for the expedition is calculated entirely based on ASW stats of the ASW Aviation Patrol equipment, as well as the respective slot sizes for said equipment. This holds true for even for ships that do not fall into the "ASW Ship" category described above, as long as they they have ASW Aviation Patrol equipment equipped (confirmed for BBV/CAV/CV(B)/Taigei/SSV).
+
* They are marked with "Expedition Complete" once they are done for the month.
 +
** Failures do not count as completion.
 +
* A4 and 42 are unlocked at reset.
 +
** Completing A4 will unlock B2. Completing 42 will unlock 43 and 44.
 +
** Completing B2 will unlock B3.
 +
** Completing B3 will unlock B4.
 +
* These are the only expeditions that reward improvement materials {{IM}}.
 +
* You will be unable to dispatch a fleet on these expeditions if the completion timer would overlap with the reset for that month. E.g 42 will be locked at 0400 JST.

Sonars and Depth Charges do not fall into the category of ASW Aviation Patrol equipment. Consequently, equipping these does not have an effect on your support expedition's potential ASW output.
+
===Combat Expeditions===

At nodes that do not contain enemy submarines, the ASW Support Expedition will trigger as a standard Aerial Support Expedition instead.
+
During combat expeditions, your fleet can return damaged. The only three combat expeditions that exist are monthly expeditions B4, 43 and D2. They otherwise work the same as any other expedition.

Performing Expeditions

Dispatching Fleets

Sending a fleet on expedition

To dispatch fleets on an expedition:

1. Select the expedition you wish to do from the expedition menu.
2. Click the Confirm (決定) button to bring up the fleet selection menu.
3. Select the fleet you wish to dispatch using the fleet icons at the top.

  • Remember that the first fleet cannot be dispatched.

4. Click on Begin Expedition! (遠征開始!) to dispatch the fleet.

Important Notes

  • Up to 3 fleets can be dispatched at once.
    • They cannot be dispatched on the same expedition.
    • Please see Composition on how to unlock more fleets.
  • Every expedition has specific success conditions. Please see below for details.
    • Not meeting the conditions will cause the expedition to fail and not yield any resources.
    • Fuel and ammunition costs will still be applied.
    • Experience will still be gained but HQ experience will be reduced by 30%.
  • Expeditions only count for quests if the quest is active when the fleet returns.
    • Therefore you only need to activate the quest when the expedition is nearing completion.
  • Expeditions can be completed early by returning to the home screen when less than 1 minute remains on the timer.
  • Expeditions cost 3 morale.
  • Damage state does not affect success or failure.
    • Heavily damaged (大破) flagships will render the fleet unable to be dispatched.

Recalling Expeditions

Only seen in an active expedition

In the event where you have dispaced the wrong fleet on an expedition or dispatched them to the wrong expedtion, you are able to cancel the expedition by clicking the Cancel Expedition/Recall Order (遠征中止/帰還命令) button.

  • Cancelled expeditions do not yield any resources or experience.
  • They are counted as failures on your Admiral profile.
  • A recall cannot be cancelled'.
  • Support expeditions cannot be recalled.
  • Recalled fleets do not return immediately, the return time is calculated as:

[math]\displaystyle{ \text{Return Time} = \frac{\text{Time}_\text{min}}{3} }[/math]

Where, [math]\displaystyle{ \text{Time}_\text{min} }[/math] is the lesser of remaining time' or elapsed time.

For example, a fleet is sent on expedition #1 (15 minutes), then after 6 minutes, it is recalled.

  1. The remaining time is 9 minutes.
  2. The elapsed time is 6 minutes.
  3. The smaller number of the two, 6 minutes elapsed time in this case, is divided by 3.
  4. The final recall time is 2 minutes.

Success Conditions

Normal Success

Meeting the requirements for the expeditions as detailed below will normally result in a Normal Success (成功). Failing to meet the requirements will result in a Failure (失敗). Please check your fleets against the following checklist to ensure success.

  • Supply status: Fleets should be fully resupplied before being dispatched. Fleets without enough supplies to meet the expedition cost will fail.
  • Flagship level: The flagship must have a level greater or equal to the required flagship level of the expedition.
  • Fleet level: Certain expeditions also have a sum total of fleet level requirement that must be met.
  • Composition: Certain expeditions require certain ship types and/or certain numbers of ship girls to be dispatched.
  • Drum Canisters: Certain expeditions such as 21 require a certain number of Drum Canisters to be equipped by the fleet.
  • Stats: Certain expeditions such as A2 have certain sum total of fleet stat requirements that must be met. Required stats can be firepower Firepower, Torpedo Torpedo Attack, ASW Anti-Submarine Warfare, Line of Sight Line of Sight or Anti-Air Anti-Air.

Great Success

Great Success

A Great Success (大成功) provides 50% more resources, twice the HQ experience, four times the ship girl experience and the great success reward item (if applicable). In additon to meeting Normal Success conditions, great success requires either:

  • Sparkling: Ship girls with 50 or more morale.
    • Each sparkled ship girl increases the great success chance by approximately 16%.
  • Drum Canisters: Expeditions which require drum canisters have an innate chance of great success.
    • The chance is roughly 50%.
    • Drum expeditions can be "over drumed" to increase the great success chance further without needing sparkles.
  • Stats: Certain expeditions such as 41 have an innate great success chance related to stats.
    • Going over the total stat requirement can increase the chance of great success without needing sparkles.

Expedition Rewards

Expeditions will always yield primary resources (FuelAmmunitionSteelBauxite) upon success. Secondary rewards are not guaranteed.

Expedition 12 gives medium box (left) and development material (right)
  • Items listed on the left always have a 50% chance of being obtained regardless of normal or great success.
  • Items listed on the right are guaranteed on a great success and have a very low chance on a normal success.

See below for a summary:

Rating Resources Experiences Rewards

Landing Crafts

Equipping certain landing crafts will boost the primary resource gain of the expedition. Aside from the Toku Daihatsu, all other landing craft bonuses stack with each other. All landing craft bonuses are multiplicative with the great success bonus. This means you can gain 1.8x the resources on great success with four daihatsu in your fleet.

Equipment Name Resource Bonus Maximum Bonus Notes
Daihatsu-class Landing Craft 5% 20% Obtainable from: Akitsumaru · Arare Kai Ni · [{Ooshio|Ooshio Kai Ni]] · Abukuma Kai Ni · Kinu Kai Ni.

Also obtainable from certain quests.

Toku Daihatsu-class Landing Craft +2% to daihatsu bonus. +6% to daihatsu bonus. Obtainable from quests or upgrading basic Daihatsu. For details on how the maximum bonus is calculated, please see the equipment page.
Daihatsu-class Landing Craft (Type 89 Medium Tanks & Marines) 2% ?? Obtainable from quests or upgrading basic Daihatsu.
Type 2 Ka-Mi Tank 1% ?? Obtainable from quests or upgrading basic Daihatsu.

Expedition Subtypes

Support Expeditions

The support expedition section has been moved due to length.

Support expeditions are available in World 5 and events. You can dispatch powerful fleets to help assist you during sorties in those areas. Please see Support Expedition for more details on what they are and how they work.

Monthly Expeditions

These expeditions can only be completed once per month. They reset on the 15th of every month at 1200 JST.

  • They are marked with "Expedition Complete" once they are done for the month.
    • Failures do not count as completion.
  • A4 and 42 are unlocked at reset.
    • Completing A4 will unlock B2. Completing 42 will unlock 43 and 44.
    • Completing B2 will unlock B3.
    • Completing B3 will unlock B4.
  • These are the only expeditions that reward improvement materials Improvement material.
  • You will be unable to dispatch a fleet on these expeditions if the completion timer would overlap with the reset for that month. E.g 42 will be locked at 0400 JST.

Combat Expeditions

During combat expeditions, your fleet can return damaged. The only three combat expeditions that exist are monthly expeditions B4, 43 and D2. They otherwise work the same as any other expedition.
