During events, qualified players gain access to special a time-limited world with special maps, which usually reference historical operations; the only exception was a collaboration event with the Arpeggio franchise: [[Christmas 2013 Event|''Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio: Ars Nova'']]. Event maps stay up for an indeterminate amount of time, usually measured in weeks, which grew as the game progressed to be anywhere between 2 and 8 weeks.

During events, qualified players gain access to a special "time-limited world" with exclusive maps, referencing historical/planned operations; the only exception being a collaboration event with the [[Christmas 2013 Event|Arpeggio franchise]], as well as [[Mini-Event]]s.  

*Event maps stay up for an indeterminate amount of time, on average 43 days for Phase 2, and which can range anywhere between 3 and 9 weeks.

*Events are typically released in multiple phases, with the initial release of the Main Operations only, followed by the Extra Operation some weeks later, and eventually the "Friendly Fleets" neer the end of the event in some cases.

Event maps pose considerably higher challenge levels compared to normal maps, employing exclusive [[Enemy vessel#Bosses|Abyssal Bosses]] and [[#Event Mechanics|mechanics]], such as [[Combined Fleet]]s.
