* Typical tsundere. From her dialogue she seems to care about Shimakaze more than a friend, it could be she felt that way since she was being Shimakaze's prototype which in a way should make her Shimakaze's elder sister.

* Her name means "a wind blowing high in the sky".
* She was launched on the 19th of October 1939.
* On the 6th of April 1945, Amatsukaze was attacked by USAAF B-25s, 6 miles (9.7 km) east of Amoy ([http://tools.wmflabs.org/geohack/geohack.php?pagename=Japanese_destroyer_Amatsukaze¶ms=24_30_N_118_10_E_ 24°30′N 118°10′E]). Her crew managed to beach the ship; salvage attempts were abandoned on the 8th of April. On the 10th of April, the ship was scuttled with explosive charges.
