This is an army fighter squardon equipped with the IJA's main fighter, the Army Type 1 Fighter "Hayabusa".
Marked with patterns of the folded cranes, this squardron was deployed to places like Hokkaido and the Kuril Islands. The Hayabusas that were deployed to the northern Kuril Islands fought desperately duing the Battle of Shumshu.
