When having Pumpkins in the inventory, a pumpkin icon will hide the normal luck {{Luck}} icon in the ship's stat list in the [[Modernization]] panel. Clicking on it will enable Pumpkin Modernization. This will consume a Pumpkin, and improve luck in addition to whatever stats are provided by any ships being used as modernization materials.

* +2 {{Luck}} with 1 duplicate plus 1 member of the same class (e.g. if modernizing {{Ship/Link|Akatsuki}}, using an {{Ship/Link|Akatsuki}} and a {{Ship/Link|Hibiki}}).
** 1 duplicate plus 0 members of the same class may still give +1 {{Luck}}
* +3 {{Luck}} with 2 duplicates (e.g. if modernizing {{Ship/Link|Akatsuki}}, using a pair of {{Ship/Link|Akatsuki}}).
* +3 {{Luck}} with 2 duplicates (e.g. if modernizing {{Ship/Link|Akatsuki}}, using a pair of {{Ship/Link|Akatsuki}}).
Regardless of modernization materials, there is a chance of getting additional luck; the maximum Luck gain from a single modernization is +3.
* Using members of the same class (e.g. if modernizing {{Ship/Link|Akatsuki}}, ships from {{Ship/Link|Hibiki|Ikazuchi|Inazuma|link_class=Akatsuki|text=Akatsuki class}}) may increase the chance of additional luck.
