If you have a Pumpkin in your inventory, then when you look at the [[Modernization]] panel, a Pumpkin icon will hide the normal {{Luck}} Luck icon in the ship's stat list. Clicking on it will enable Pumpkin Modernization; this will consume a Pumpkin, and improve Luck in addition to whatever stats are provided by any ships being used as modernization materials.
The amount of Luck provided is dependent on what modernization materials are used:
* 1 or more ships that are neither duplicates nor members of the same class: +1 Luck
* 2 or more members of the same class (e.g. if modernizing {{Ship/Link|Akatsuki}}, ships from {{Ship/Link|Hibiki|Ikazuchi|Inazuma|link_class=Akatsuki|text=Akatsuki class}}): +2 Luck
* 2 or more duplicates: +3 Luck
If additional ships are used, there is a chance of getting +1 additional Luck; the maximum Luck gain from a single modernization is +3.
