I originally based my assumptions that Akagi was the ship in the back on the shape of the tail end of the ship that sort of droops off and the smoke (three hits, one near the rudder http://www.midway42.org/TheBattle/Images/Akagi-Bomb-Hits.png ), but now that you mention it, the placement of the island does resemble both Akagi and Hiryuu.

The main problem I notice now though is the size of the ships. Since the one in the front is closer to the camera it must be smaller than it seems; if Hiryuu was the one in front then either Hiryuu is suddenly way smaller than she was or Akagi decided to get supersized (http://www.midway1942.org/ships/comp_01.shtml). If Akagi is the one out front then that ship behind her is flat and bloody huge.

But then again, maybe this is over analysing things. The image only appears for a few frames and in most of them the image is really hard to see. On top of that, the shipgirls have a scale that weighs in kilotons (http://imgur.com/Fsq3YqM) but Fubuki manages to balance on top of two baseballs without crushing them (http://imgur.com/ETmXPqC) and walks on sand without making any footprints (http://imgur.com/Xn3saPs). http://imgur.com/GMMnEI0 Fubuki isn't in pain because her right hand is slightly stretched, or because Naka's microphone disappears for several frames, she's in pain because several bricks in the background are slightly longer than they should be.
