While Kinugasa, is not exactly the best heavy cruiser to own, she does make it up with the fact that she's is one of the easier Heavy Cruisers to train to a Kai Ni Level. Locating her as a drop may be difficult for newer admirals, but it's also quite possible to obtain her from [[construction]]. While Kinugasa doesn't have any paticular outstanding performances in comparison to other Heavy Cruisers she does make it up with the fact that she comes with the [[20.3cm(no.3) Twin Gun Mount]] which is a rare and powerful gun that is useful for heavy cruisers to use.

More experience admirals can often consider looking for extra Kinugasa (since she can be available on later maps more easily) to train her for her [[20.3cm(no.3) Twin Gun Mount]] which they can arm to other kanmusus or use for modification in [[Akashi's Improvement Arsenal]] if they happen to own [[Akashi]].

The only issue when it comes to farming the gun is that she requires more time and effort to train than [[Mikuma]], who can be [[remodel]]ed at a much lower level (level 30). The only reason to consider training Kinugasa over [[Mikuma]] is because Kinugasa is much easier to obtain than [[Mikuma]].
