Trivia

General Information

She is named after Captain Richard Phillips Leary.
She was launched on the 6th of October 1943.
One of her most famous historical involvements were in the Battle of Surigao Strait. Along with USS Heywood L. Edwards, she fired a torpedo volley against the battleship Yamashiro. During the entire engament she was also credited with shooting down one Japanese plane as well as providing cover for the damaged USS Albert W. Grant (this ship was severely damaged not only by the Nishimura Fleet but as well as the Allied Fleet).
Transferred to Japan on the 10th of March 1959 and renamed "Yuugure".
Stricken on the 10th of March 1974, and scrapped on the 1st of July 1976.

She made her debut as an Acrylic Stand for the Kancolle's 12th anniversary collaboration with Lawson.
She was added on the 12th of May 2025 as a limited drop.
