In-Game Tips

While Kinugasa is not exactly the best heavy cruiser to own, she does make it up with the fact that she is one of the easier Heavy Cruisers to train to a Kai Ni Level (level 55). Locating her as a drop may be difficult for newer admirals, but it's also quite possible to obtain her from construction. While Kinugasa doesn't have any particular outstanding attributes in comparison to other Heavy Cruisers she does make it up with the fact that her Kai Ni comes equipped with the 20.3cm(no.3) Twin Gun Mount, a rare and powerful gun for heavy cruisers.

More experienced admirals can consider farming extra Kinugasa (since she can be available on later maps more easily) for her 20.3cm(no.3) Twin Gun Mount which they can arm to other kanmusus or use for modification in Akashi's Improvement Arsenal if they happen to own Akashi. The only issue when it comes to farming the gun is that she requires more time and effort to train than Mikuma, who can be remodeled at a much lower level (level 30). The only reason to consider training Kinugasa over Mikuma is because Kinugasa is much easier to obtain than Mikuma.
