~~''The F4U was developed as a high-performance carrier~~-based fighter, but the early models which experienced difficulties with carrier operations, was operated from land instead. Each of the upgraded and improved fighter/bomber versions continued to be operated from carriers even after the war. Its success as a multi-role aircraft is well demonstrated and it served well as a fighter/bomber. This unit is a late model with a powerful engine and four propellers.
