A late-model upgrade of the Type 0 Model 64 shipborne fighter. This unit is a what-if upgrade is equipped with a lightweight KMX and anti-submarine equipment. The two-seat cockpit on this anti-submarine fighter/bomber has space for a reconnaissance/navigation officer. It was deployed with the 931 Squadron who operated from land bases and escort carriers to defend the Southern corridor. Along with desperately trying to secure air superiority, it patrolled the seas alongside the Toukai to suppress enemy submarines and escort convoys.
